Google launching DIY Android app tool

Posted by eatmold on Jul 12, 2010 in Mobile |

It appears that very soon you will not need to be a software developer to make a Google Android app.

They claim you can “build just about any app you can imagine with App Inventor“, it requires no programming knowledge as you design the screens and then use “blocks” to specify the apps behavior.

I have requested access, so as soon as it is granted I will write a full review and maybe an ExposedTechnology.com Android App.

Great, as if the android marketplace isn’t full of enough shitty apps already. Baton down the hatches and prepare for the onslaught of even more crap!

I’ll have to disagree with you there. This could pave the way to useful apps, and because the coding is already done (and correctly) the apps should run smoothly. There is a massive amount of rubbish in the marketplace agreed.

I also hope that this app can encourage young people to develop software for real.
